Fun board games for the family
I was never a big board game person, not even when I was younger, but my daughter and my husband love playing board games. As a matter of fact, I think that a good board game night is a great way to bond with your kids, so I have been more and more interested in adding new games that would be good for the whole family.
Classic games with a twist
The one board game I used to play and loved when I was little was monopoly and it is of course one of the very first games I wanted to add to the family’s game collection.
There are a lot of great things about monopoly and it is perfect to teach the kids about money, the value of money, patience, and it is even great for problem solving. So yes, I love monopoly and especially like some of the new versions of this classic game like the Mega Edition which includes the same classic board we all know and love PLUS 9 new properties including 7 new states for added fun!
Learning can be fun
The Game of the States is another board game in the same line as Monopoly as the kids can learn about the 50 states while having fun buying and selling properties all over the country.
The game will allow your kids to learn about the fifty states, their locations, capital cities, top products, and learn interesting STEM facts about each state during the process.
Fun for all family members, this is one of those games your kids will love and learn from without even noticing they are doing a lot more than playing a game and having a good time.
Just for fun
Sunk is by far one of my favorites…A little tricky, this board game is loaded with fun, but involves water so you might want to have your kids play with supervision or in the part of the house where a little water spill is not a big deal.
Sunk is for kids 10+ but the truth is that anyone over the age of 10 (parents included) will have a blast with this game, which is actually pretty easy to play: You will have to add one drop at a time to a floating cup which is placed inside of a half way water filled container without causing it to sink while completing challenges and dice rolls…The first one to sink the floating cup is out!
Perfect for sleepovers, play dates and family game night!
And if you need another great game for family night? Then Cranium Cadoo is a must!
The game features 2 decks of Challenge cards in card boxes, 1 custom die, 40 plastic scoring tokens, a special red decoder mask, a Cranium modeling clay in plastic zip bag, a sand timer, a sketch pad and illustrated instructions are the instruments used in this family friendly game meant for kids 7 and up. This game has lots of fun challenges for all players along the game.
So maybe I should say I was never big on board games until I got my hands on these super fun games!
