When I was in my teen years, I was never very keen on wearing makeup. As a matter of fact, I hated it and wore makeup very seldom…I always though it made my skin feel cakey…like stuffed and I felt very uncomfortable….Luckily , those pasty makeups are a thing of the past and you can now days get amazing brands that have managed to get rid of that uncomfortable feeling when you wear makeup.
The same way there was a break through with the makeup, there was also one with the makeup tools and brushes used for makeup. As long as you do follow a few rules on when to clean and how to clean your brushes, you will have an amazing tool in your hands.
The trick is to keep your brushes clean and sanitized to prevent the growth of bacteria in your makeup brushes.
I personally like to keep it simple and while there are tons of cleaning products for your makeup brushes, I like to clean mine using baby shampoo and a very handy tool from MelodySusie called Apple Shape Makeup Brush Cleaner.
The Apple Shape Makeup Brush Cleaner is a compact apple shaped brush cleaner made of silicon with an opening so you can wear it on your hand like a glove.
This handy tool features four different textures that would allow you to wash and deep clean your brushes as they help get all the buildup off your brushes.
Light weight and easy to bring along, the apple shape makeup brush cleaner is a great addition to your makeup gear and tools. Better yet, it is very inexpensive so you are not causing any dents to your budget.
Available in the apple shape or the brush egg cleaner which is even more compact and can easily fit in your makeup bag for cleaning on the go!
I lay down all my makeup brushes on my bathroom counter top, and add a dab of the baby shampoo to the makeup bush cleaner.
Then open the water faucet to luke warm, wet the makeup bush and gently start pressing it in a circular motion against the brush cleaner.
If I am using the apple shaped one which is what I do at home, I do a few seconds on each of the four textures and keep doing it until the brush is completely clean.
Have a towel laid out so that you can place your brushes on it as you clean them… That easy!
Just keep in mind that in order to prevent any skin issues, you should never borrow or share your makeup brushes.
Clean them at least once every 4 weeks.
Throw away old brushes that you do not longer use.
Keep all your brushes and makeup tool properly stored to prevent contamination.
Makeup brushes can last up to 5 years depending on quality and care!
